Instructions

    • 1

Put a saucepan on a burner on the stovetop. Turn the burner onto medium heat.

    • 2

Melt 1 1/2 oz. of butter in the saucepan. Be careful not to let the butter brown while it melts.

    • 3

Add 1 qt. of heavy cream to the melted butter in the saucepan.

    • 4

Place 1/2 tsp. of pepper and 1/2 tsp. of salt into the saucepan with the other ingredients.

    • 5

Stir the ingredients in the saucepan with a whisk. You will want to make sure that you stir the contents of the saucepan occasionally while cooking.

    • 6

Allow the sauce to cook over medium heat. The sauce will bubble up a bit during cooking.

    • 7

Take note of the alfredo sauce's texture at this point. It has a very runny, almost watery, texture and does not coat or stick to the whisk.

    • 8

Combine the cooked fettuccine pasta and alfredo sauce and serve with a garden salad and hot garlic bread.

Tips & Warnings

  • While cooking the alfredo sauce, you can also cook the fettuccine pasta. Be sure to use enough water in order for the pasta to cook properly. Use 1 qt. of water for every 4 oz. of dry pasta you intend to cook.
