Card making is a fun and popular hobby. Make the card even more eye catching by making it into a pop-up card. The recipient will be pleasantly surprised to see an image pop up when the card is opened and will be amazed that someone took time out of their busy lives to create the card.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two pieces of card stock measuring 8 inches by 5 inches
  • Card stock die cuts
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Markers
  • Stickers or embellishments
  1. Step 1

Fold one of the pieces of card stock in half. It will now measure four by five inches.

  2. Step 2

Cut two parallel slits perpendicular to the folded edge. The slits should be one inch long and positioned half way up the folded crease. Make sure to leave one inch between the parallel lines.

  3. Step 3

Fold flap over to one side. Repeat to other side. Put flap back to starting position.

  4. Step 4

Open the card. Push flap through the back of card to the inside. The flap should create a square on the inside of the card when open. Close the card. Press down on the flap area to create a distinct crease.

  5. Step 5

Choose a die cut to decorate the inside of card. The theme can be seasonal, holiday oriented or anything else you desire.

  6. Step 6

Decorate the die cut. Open the card and place one side of the card flat on the table. Glue the die cut to the flat side of the flap. The die cut will appear to be standing up in the middle of the card.

  7. Step 7

Glue the second piece of card stock to the outside of the pop-up card. Make sure to line up the edges of the card. Use markers, stickers and embellishments to decorate the card.
