How to Download Music with Limewire

Go to the Limewire website. Click on "Get it Now" and download the program onto your computer.

Open Limewire and click on "Audio" from the left tool bar. Then enter the name of the song, group or artist in the boxes and click search.

Choose your song from the list that Limewire offers you. Check the type of download it is before choosing. Some downloads are for dial-up Internet connections, others are for cable, T1 and T2 Internet connections. Choose a song that fits your connection and click the green download arrow below the list of songs.

Wait for the download to complete. Some songs will take longer than others will. It will give you a list of the songs that are downloading and the time remaining to complete their download.

Save the downloaded song to your computer. Then you can transfer it to a CD, an MP3 player, or to an iPod.

Make sure you legally obtain the songs you are downloading. Even if the songs are free now, you could be hit with a fine later on.
Do not download any file that seems to be suspicious. Limewire claims to be free of adware and shareware, but every once in awhile a corrupted file will be added to the list. The program will warn you when there is a corrupted file. In this case, do not download it.
