You don't have to spend a great deal of money to get a good-looking Halloween costume. In fact, you can create a scary ghost with just a pair of scissors and an old white sheet. The trick is learning how to properly cut the sheet for your costume. Keep reading to find out how to make that old bed sheet into a scary ghost in just a few minutes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Learn how to drape. Enlist the help of a friend or family member about the same height as you. Place the sheet over your friend and adjust until it covers the most body area. It should be about ankle height all the way around, so you may have to pull it forward or backward depending on how it hangs on your model.

  2. Step 2

Make some eye holes. Ask your friend to take a pen and, with your help, make light marks on the sheet where the eye holes should go. Don't do this part by yourself because you could harm your friend in the process. Once you have the marks, cut out the holes with the scissors, making the holes slightly larger than the circles you marked.

  3. Step 3

Check the length of the hem. Place the sheet on your model again, and pay attention to any areas that reach the ground. You should trim off any areas that touch the ground, plus about an inch above that to make sure that your costume won't drag the ground on the big day.
