Step 1
Learn the difference between Injen's cold air intake systems. Short ram (IS) series systems replace your vehicle's factory stock air box and rest in the engine bay. The SP series utilizes MR technology, which balances out the fuel-to-air ratio flowing into your engine, increasing the vehicle's performance. The race division (RD) series grabs colder air because it resides under the front bumper. Power-flow systems also use Injen's MR technology for a balanced air-to-fuel ratio for pickup truck and SUV engines. All Injen systems are made out of T-6061 aluminum and have CNC mandrel bends.

Step 2
Determine your spending limit. Injen's SP series ranges from $180 to $415, short ram from $90 to $415, race division from $220 to $290 and power-flow systems from $240 to $375.

Step 3
Visit Injen's website to configure which series is best for your vehicle (see Resources below). After you select the make and model of your vehicle in the search fields, a list of Injen air intake systems that match your engine will appear. You can also download an installation guide for the cold air intake system with your particular vehicle.
-
Step 4
Take into consideration where the intake system will be placed. If you live in a climate with an abundance of precipitation, select the short ram series so your engine will not accumulate water. Also, some vehicles may need to be modified to fit certain Injen models.

Step 5
Select a model that enhances the look of your engine. Not only do cold air intake systems boost horsepower, they also have many designs to complement your specific engine. Injen offers intake systems in black, red, blue, silver and a mirror-polish.
