The Epila Home Laser Hair Removal Kit is a simple and relatively inexpensive alternative to professional laser hair removal. Using a simple handheld laser unit, the Epila system claims to be effective 80 percent of the time in regards to permanent hair removal.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Epila Home Laser Hair Removal Kit
  • Razor for pre-shaving
  • Cool towel
  • Aloe vera gel
  1. Step 1

Shave the hairs from the area in question at least a day before you use the Epila system. For the best results, the hair should be no longer than 1 or 2 mm in length.

  2. Step 2

Wipe the area with a cool towel before you use the Epila Home Laser Hair Removal Kit. This will help to keep your overall skin temperature down, so that you can endure the heat from the laser for a longer period of time.

  3. Step 3

Plug the Epila Home Laser Hair Removal unit into a power outlet. Depress the power button for at least 3 seconds to turn on the unit.

  4. Step 4

Adjust the laser setting on the Epila unit. You may want to start with a lower setting until you get a feel for how the Epila system works. By setting the laser too high, you may experience more discomfort and irritation, depending upon your skin type.

  5. Step 5

Place the touch bar of the Epila unit as closely as possible to the area of your skin you wish to treat. Push the laser button. You should hear a beep when the laser is activated.

  6. Step 6

Move the Epila unit in a slight circular motion as you activate the laser, and not directly at the hair follicle. This allows the laser to penetrate beneath the skin and destroy the hair follicle at the root, rather than the point where the hair emerges through the skin.

  7. Step 7

Use the Epila system for no longer than 30 minutes at a time. Take a 5 minute break, soothe your skin with the cool towel, and resume. Always stop when you feel too uncomfortable, or if you feel a burning sensation on your skin.

  8. Step 8

Apply aloe vera gel after you use the Epila Home Laser Hair Removal Kit. Your skin may appear red or blistered for a day or more after treatment.

Tips & Warnings
  • You should not use the Epila Home Laser Hair Removal Kit in potentially sensitive areas such as your nose and your ear canals, due to possible damage caused when the laser beam comes in contact with mucous membranes or eardrums. You should also protect your eyes, mouth, anus and genitals from exposure to the laser.

on 9/28/2008 WHAT IS THIS? Is the manufacturer crazy, or naively honest. An what will it achieve including testimonials that the apparatus is useless and does not remove hair? That it looks "cheap" or any other comment is irrelevant, but a hair remover, that doesn't remove hair ?????????????????
Would be interested to have any sort of feedback to my e-mail: andyno007@gmail.com

on 9/23/2008 Luckily, I didn't have the postage issue. However, once the product was finally delivered, I was so excited to start using it. That is, until I removed it from the package. It's a cheap, light piece of plastic with a red light. Woopdy-doo! I think the laser toy we have to play with the cat could remove more hair than this thing. What a disappointment! "If it's too good to be true..." Why didn't I listen?

on 9/23/2008 Just to share my unfortunate experience with Epila..I ordered the product after paying for it online, and then paying for total shipment. And then to my surprise the post office called my house to tell me that my product has arrived but that I have to go 'bail it out'as it has no postage on it?? They shipped it with no postage so I had to go pay more money to try it. I got it home, and realized that I just bought a dangerous little laser pointer that just burns your skin but does not remove any hair effectively. What a scam!! I have been trying to contact them for exactly one month, to inquire about the extra money I had to pay for postage..and my inquiries and concerns are being completely ignored. I finally told them I will go to media if they don't respond..and surprise surprise, I got an answer back saying yes you may return it to this address..etc..and you'll get your money back, bu
