How to Make Homemade Car Wash Solution

How can you make your car look great on a shoestring budget? Try this do-it-yourself car wash solution. This cheap and simple recipe is every bit as good as those sold in the automotive department of your supermarket.

  • 1 cup dish washing liquid
  • 3/4 cup powdered laundry soap
  • 3 gallons hot water

      Mix the dish washing and laundry soap in a large bucket until the powder is completely dissolved. Using hot water will make it dissolve completely.

      Use more water if you think the solution is soapier than you need. Use a little less water if your really dirty car needs a good scrubbing.

      Wash thoroughly with a sponge or soft rag. You can use this on the windows, hubcaps and tires.

      Rinse quickly and thoroughly so the soap doesn't leave a residue on your car. Dry with a chamois or soft towels. Wax if needed. Your car should sparkle.
