After all imagine if we all looked the same. How boring would the world be? We need to learn to embrace ourselves and everything about ourselves. No one is perfect no matter what you think. Smile, when you smile it is infectious. It makes those around you smile, and you are more approachable. You don't have to walk around all the time with a smile on your face, just flash it here and there and look friendly. It can improve your overall look and you can be approachable to others much easier.

Everyone has something that they like about themselves the best. So play around with your best feature to accentuate it. For instance if you love your hair, then play around with it. Try a new hair style or color. A little change on your best asset can draw attention to it and others will see it as well. If you like your eyes, then play around with makeup for your eyes. If your lips are your favorite asset, then try a new shade of lipstick. etc. etc.

Don't compare yourself to others. Doing this only makes you envy them and makes you feel worse about yourself. Focus on yourself and work with what you have.
Do something that will boost your self confidence. Think about all the things that you really want to try, like dance lessons, acting lessons, going back to school, applying for a differnt job, etc. Doing something out of the ordinary will help you realize that you can do it! It will give you a boost that you need for self esteem. Getting out of your rut and learning something new as well as planning for your future. You also can make new friends in different environments and a potential boy/girlfriend in the process. -
Step 5
Write down all the compliments that you have been given recently. Maybe someone tells you that you did good on a job assignment or perhaps that you have pretty eyes, or your hair looks nice. Any compliment that you can remember hearing and read it aloud to yourself. This will help you to feel comfortable with yourself and who doesn't love to hear a nice complement or two about themselves?

STOP trying to please everyone! This is a biggie... There is no possible way that you are going to please everyone that you come in contact with, so why bother. Doing things to make others happy and sacrificing yourself is not good for you. So stay true to who are and what you believe in and realize if others have a problem with it that it is THEIR problem and not yours!

Spend time with those that accept you for who you are. Your family and friends that accept you and love you for who you are is a great way to feel comfortable with yourself. Surround yourself with positive people! This is an instant booster for yourself!
Realize that you are a beautiful person on the inside and the outside. There is no other you and you should not be taken for granted! -

Just be yourself in every situation. The best way to feel comfortable with yourself is to be yourself! Don't change according to who is around you. Stay true to your true self and if others don't like it, then it is their problem. You have to please yourself before you can focus on others. You do not want to be a doormat for anyone. So take the time to think about yourself and make sure you do what makes you happy and don't sacrifice yourself for others!

Do things that you know you do well in. If you have a favorite hobby then do it. If you like to volunteer, then find somewhere around your area that you are interested in volunteering in and do it. This can be a great confidence booster and make you happy that you are helping others by volunteering or knowing that you doing something that you are interested in.

Do something nice for yourself from time to time. If there is an item that you want then allow yourself to splurge once in awhile for yourself. You are worth it!
It is so important that you learn the secrets to feeling comfortable in your skin. You don't want to spend your life not happy. No one else can make you feel great about who you are, as much as you can yourself. Each one of us is a unique individual who deserves to be respected. So realize that you are special and their are people around you that think you are too!
