Dealing with a person that drains your energy is both negative on your life as well as emotional torture. So the best way to deal with an energy zapper is simply NOT TO.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
If you around an individual that is constantly draining your energy you are sure to get sucked into their negative world. No body deserves that or should have to deal with it.

If it a situation for instance work, and you have to deal with that individual to a certain degree, try to make it as minimal as possible. Do not allow yourself to be their outpouring of negativity. Deal with them in a professional manner and leave it at that. Use your willpower to be strong and stand up for yourself. Don't let them corner you into their energy draining behavior.
Step2
If it a friend or relative try to help them snap out of their negative world. Ask them to go someplace fun with you and help them get out of the rut they are in. Talk to them and see why they are so down. If after a few tries nothing is helping them then maybe you need to step back and allow them to focus on themselves to see what the problem is.
Step3
Being aware of the several ways that a person can drain you both physically and emotionally is easy. There are many different examples for you to take notice of and confront if you are feeling drained by them. A few examples are ...

Constantly speaking negatively.
Always asking you for something.
Always wanting your undivided attention.
Constantly asking you for advice.
Being overly needy.
Step4
If you feel that you are in a situation where you start to feel drained the second the person approaches you then you need to confront the situations for your own well being. Give yourself space and distance from this person and see if you feel better. If you do then they are a negativity pull on your and you need to stay away. Be descent with them but don't get sucked in.
Step5
Before you can deal with others you first have to deal with yourself. Make sure that you take care of yourself and stand up for you! You are in charge of your own life, so don't allow anyone to guide you in a negative way.
