Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- piece of drywall,,compound,and a taping knife, sharp utility knife,tape measure,straight edge
Step1
First cut out the area in a squre pattern.try to make it the same size all the way around.
Step2
Next cut the piece you are going to use approximately 2 inches bigger all the way around.
Step3
Once you have the new piece cut flip it over and measure in 1 1/2 inches all the way around the square, you will scribe a cut on the backside of this square
Step4
Now snap each piece that you scribed and peel it away from the front paper, this will allow you to have an overlap of paper so when you place it over the hole there is no need to have a backing
Step5
Now apply compound on the wall where the hole is do this around the entire hole area.
Step6
After applying the compound place the patch in the hole ,Take the flaps that over hang the square and embed them into the compound
Step7
Now take your taping knife and flatten out the repair. All of the compound will start to squeeze out, scrape all excess off and smooth out the wall
Step8
After the wall has dried you can apply a second coat to fill in all the voids. Now sand it to a smooth finish once the second coat dries and your ready to paint
