get your toddler to eat more.
get your toddler to eat more.

Some toddlers are very picky eaters, and will not eat a variety of foods, here are some easy tips to help with the picky eaters.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

When you go grocery shopping, if your child goes with you, let him or her pick out their fruits and veggies. Chances are if the pick them, they will want to eat them.

  2. Step 2

Give them choices, and let them pick on their own.

  3. Step 3

Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes for cheeses, sandwiches and so forth. The more unique the more chances they will want to eat it. I used different sized round cookie cutters to cut out circle from pizza, and made stems with celery, lettuce as leaves, and mushrooms as petals.

  4. Step 4

Let your child help you cook, it can be fun, and they will want to try what you make.

  5. Step 5

Never assume that your child will not like something, let them try anything you can think of.

  6. Step 6

Let your child experiment with different dipping sauces (ranch, bbq, ketchup, honey, etc).

on 7/9/2008 It takes time to get picky eaters to eat right. Sometimes it works better to get someone else besides mommy to offer him different foods, it has worked for me in the past. but if that does not work, I would not worry about it, your son will grow out if this soon. If you are worried he isnt getting enough vitiams, try giving him some pedisure or some type of juice high in vitiams like V8. It is also a good idea to talk to your peditricain about it as well.

on 7/8/2008 My son is 18 months old and I'm trying to get my son to eat more than noodles and fruit. He won't even eat the things he used to eat anymore. What do you do with that?
