Things You'll Need:
- Magazine cut-outs
- Good stylist
-
Step 1
First, talk to your stylist. Make sure they know exactly what you want. If they advise you against a certain look, listen to them! Just like a doctor, plumber, or math tutor, they know their craft. Trust their opinion. Don't do anything you are not comfortable with.
-
Step 2
Bring a picture. If you like Angelina Jolie's long layers or Katie Holmes' 1920's bob, make sure you bring a picture for the stylist to see. That way it will be easier for them to picture what they need to do to make you hair look like that.
-
Step 3
If you don't think your regular stylist is not used to performing the cut you want, it might be best to pay a little extra and go see a stylist at a top salon who may be more used to making the kind of haircut you're after.
-
Step 4
Breathe. It is just hair. If something goes wrong, just remember it grows back!
-
Step 5
Don't lose your mind if you're not 100% satisfied right after the haircut. If it's a dramatic change from how you usually cut your hair it will take some time for you to get used to the new look. Be patient.
