Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Pay no attention to what Glen Campbell is doing today unless you happen to like those totally staged, badly scripted "candid" conversational infomercials aimed at selling you large CD sets of great hits of the sixties and seventies.
Step2
Search Ebay or Amazon for any of the Glen Campbell CDs that feature his recordings of any and all Jimmy Webb songs. "Galveston," "Wichita Lineman," "By The Time I Get To Phoenix" are just a tiny sampling of the near perfect union of composer and artist. Also, search for any of the MCA albums that Glen cut in Nashville in the eighties.
Step3
Check out your local video store, Amazon and/or Ebay for a copy of the movie "True Grit." The legendary John Wayne and Kim Darby almost totally distract us from the fact that as an actor, Glen Campbell is a heck of a singer but, he does a pretty good job with the part and it's a movie the whole family can enjoy.
Step4
Look for DVDs of Glen's sixties TV show, "The Glen Campbell Good Time Hour." These shows aren't all five star Emmy winners, but the mix of comedy, music, dancing and singing is very entertaining and easily the equal of more revered variety shows of the period like The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour and The Ed Sullivan Show.
