iPods are mysterious little creations. They can pack so much information into such a little gadget, and then feel so overwhelming because they hold so much. Here's the easiest way to shuffle a Genre or Artist on an iPod.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • iPod or iPod Nano
  • Various genres and artists sync'd to your iPod.

Step1
Turn your iPod on and go straight to the Settings category and click on it.
Step2
Scroll down to Shuffle and set it so it will shuffle "Songs".
Step3
When you go back to the main menu, click on music. Then scroll down to either "Genres" or "Artists".
Step4
From there you can either listen to a particular genre, and it will shuffle all of the songs in that genre. Or you can click "All" and it will play all of the songs in a random order.
Step5
If you click on artists, you can click on a particular artist and play their songs in a random order. Or you can use the "All" option here as well.

Tips & Warnings

  • I usually keep my shuffle on artists all of the time since I like listening to a little bit of everything.
  • If you like listening to a playlist in a particular order, you will need to go back to the settings and turn the shuffle option off.
