Anderson is located on the South Carolina border with Georgia and quickly is becoming a weekend getaway for people looking to spend some time in the mountains and lakes. With that mind, here are some good places to get some grub.
If you like barbecue, then Anderson is a great place to go. There are some fantastic places to eat including Sonny's, Big Dave's and T&K's.
If you are looking for what the locals like best, then seek out Brushy Creek. Drive Interstate 85 to exit 40 and head toward Easley. Everything at Brushy Creek is good and served large, so go hungry.
Step2
If barbecue isn't your thing and you want something fancy, try Sullivan's Metropolitan Grill located on Main Street in downtown Anderson. The food is great and the prices are fantastic. Four people can get dinner and drinks for under $100 on most nights. The place is usually packed on the weekends, so call ahead for reservations.
Step3
A trip to Anderson isn't complete without a stop to Skin Thrashers, a hot dog place that is beloved by Anderson residents for its atmosphere and dogs.
Step4
One of the interesting things about Anderson is that it also has two great wing joints: Chiefs and Charlie T's. Both are located near Lake Hartwell, so they are a great place to unwind after a day of boating and fishing.
