Step 1
The print pop-up box. Select Advanced.Regardless of which program you are using to print from, whether it’s while you’re surfing the Internet or using a word processing program, when you click “Print” a pop-up box will appear. Select "Advanced."

Select Draft.If you’re printing a simple document, select “Draft.” The print quality between Draft and Text is minimal, but using Draft will help you save pennies every time you print. You can select this option even if there is a graphic or picture in the document that you want to print.

Step 3
If you’re printing a picture, be aware that “Best Photo” will use the most ink. You may want to try selecting the “Photo” option to compare quality. In newer printers, the quality is nearly the same.

Select Advanced (again).Select the “Advanced” button on your pop-up screen to proceed to the next step.

Select Black ink onlyNext, decide what colors you want to use when printing. There’s no doubt that printing in black ink only is by far the cheapest way to print. To achieve this goal, click to add a check mark next to the print “Black ink only.” Then select “OK.”

Select OK.You’ll be returned to the properties page. Note that “Draft” is selected. Select “OK” again.

Select OK.You’ll be returned to the main print screen where you can simply select “OK.” Your document will print in black ink and will save you the most money possible when using your inkjet printer.
