If you work hours on end at a desk job, you already know the common problem areas on the bodies of office workers. Siting all day leaning over your computer, particularly if you have a stressful job, can wreak havoc on the neck, upper back, chest and lower back. Office yoga is quick and easy to perform, and can help alleviate those aches and pains throughout the day.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin the sun salutation pose for office yoga by sitting at the very edge of your chair. If your chair swivels or is on wheels, brace the back against your desk and position all knobs so that it moves as little as possible.

  2. Step 2

Bring your legs in so that they are pressed gently together and your feet are resting just below your knees. Place your hands at your chest, palms together in prayer position. Pay special attention to your posture, making sure that your back is straight, your shoulders relaxed and your chest open.

  3. Step 3

Take a few deep breaths, relaxing and preparing for sun salutation, one of the most important poses in yoga. Inhale deeply and lift your arms out and up from your sides. Bring your hands up until they are directly above your head and your palms touch, stretching up towards the sun. Exhale and relax your arms, extending them down your sides.

  4. Step 4

Return to prayer position and hold for one deep breath. Repeat this office yoga sun salutation at least three times before returning to work. Perform the pose whenever you need to relax, relieve tension and take a breather.
