How to Make Vegetarian Wraps

One of the best things about making vegetarian wraps is that you can control exactly what goes into them, and the selection of possible ingredients is almost endless. Vegetarian wraps can be eaten hot or cold.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mixing bowls
  • Cutting Board
  • Vegetable peeler
  • Paring knives
  • Wooden Spoons
  • Spatulas
  • Tortillas
  • Assorted vegetables of your choice
  • Spread of your choice, such as tofu, cream cheese or hummus
  • Cheese (optional)
  • Toothpicks, (optional)
  1. Step 1

    Spread a thin layer of cream cheese, hummus or tofu on each piece of bread.

  2. Step 2

    Peel the vegetables if necessary, chop them into small pieces and mix them in a bowl. Stir in some grated cheese such as cheddar or pepper jack.

  3. Step 3

    Put a spoonful of the vegetable mixture in the middle of each piece of bread.

  4. Step 4

    Roll the bread up very tightly around the vegetables, and secure the wrap with a toothpick to hold it together, if necessary.

  5. Step 5

    Cut the prepared tube in half diagonally and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Any combination of vegetables can be delicious in a vegetarian wrap. Consider shredded carrot, zucchini, avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, green or red peppers or cucumbers.
  • For a fun family dinner, put a variety of spreads and vegetables on the table along with some fresh tortillas or wraps, and let everybody build their own vegetarian wrap.
  • Use pre-shredded carrots and broccoli for a quick and easy wrap.
