Instructions

    • 1

Clean the potatoes with cool water. Carefully, remove the potato skins with a potato peeler, if desired.

    • 2

Cut the potatoes into equally sized pieces with a knife for even cooking.

    • 3

Add ½-inch of water to the bottom of your steam pot.

    • 4

Place the steam pot on the stove and turn the stove burner to high heat.

    • 5

Put the steaming insert in the steam pot, and then place the potatoes in the steaming insert. Put the lid on steam pot.

    • 6

Bring the water in the steam pot to boiling and allow the potatoes to cook for approximately 20 minutes.

    • 7

Remove the lid from the steam pot and check for doneness. Gently prick a potato with a fork to see if the potatoes are fork-tender. When they're done, remove them from the steam pot.

    • 8

Serve the steam cooked potatoes with butter, salt and pepper if desired, or use the potatoes in your favorite recipe.

Tips & Warnings

  • Put the potatoes in an even layer in the steaming insert to allow for even cooking.

  • The smaller you cut the potatoes, the faster they will steam cook.

  • You can also add your favorite spices or herbs to the potatoes before cooking.
