Step 1
Stand with your right side facing the pole. Straighten your left arm across your body and grasp high up on the pole. Grasp the pole with your right hand just below your left.
-
Step 2
Jump slightly as your engage the muscles of your arms and stomach to lift your lower body up so that your legs straddle the pole. Make sure that you do not kick and swing your legs up, but rather work your abdominal muscles and biceps, lifting and folding your body. The movement should be smooth and graceful.
-
Step 3
Keep your legs spread wide and extended straight out with your toes pointing as you extend the inverted straddle as far back as possible. In the full position, your ankles should come near to the same level as your chin.
-
Step 4
Hold the inverted straddle for a few seconds before bending your knees and gracefully swinging your body back to standing position.
