Once considered a form of dance reserved for nightclubs, pole dancing has been transformed into America's newest fitness craze. While pole dancing is unquestionably sensual, it is also fun and a challenging workout for the entire body. Working to strengthen the body's core muscles, pole dance is a dynamic way to sculpt your figure. With a few tips, you can add the crouch spin to your regular fitness routine.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stand with your right side toward the pole. Extend your right arm above your head and grip the pole.

  2. Step 2

Build the momentum necessary for the crouch spin by walking quickly in a full circle around the pole. Remember that pole dancing is beautiful and sensual, so keep your walk smooth and graceful.

  3. Step 3

Make your full circle and when you are back in your original position, quickly lower your right hand so that your fingers are pointed toward the ground and grip the top of the pole with your left hand.

  4. Step 4

Pull up with your arms as you jump slightly, bending the knees and crouching your body around the pole. When your bring your body into the pole, your upper thighs and lower abdomen will be pressing into the pole. Make sure that you bring your body completely sideways into the crouch.

  5. Step 5

Use the momentum of your body and the force of your jump to keep you moving around the pole. Make 1 and 1/2 turns around the pole as you slowly come closer to the floor. On the last half turn, open your legs into a full "V" and bring your crouch spin to a pause.

  6. Step 6

Hold your legs in a "V" position for a moment before bringing your legs together and allowing your right hip to come gently to the floor, completing the pole dance move.
