Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Antibacterial soap
  • Towel
  • Nail file
  • Foot cream (optional)
  1. Step 1

Cleanse your feet every day. Use an antibacterial soap and pay attention to the areas between your toes. Dry your feet thoroughly with a towel.

  2. Step 2

Rotate your shoes daily. Try not to wear the same pair 2 days in a row; instead, choose between 2 or 3 pairs. This will give the shoes time to dry out. Even if you don't realize it, feet perspire and make the inside of shoes damp, which can lead to fungal infections and other problems.

  3. Step 3

Use a top coat of polish on your nails every week. This is particularly important if you have decals on your toenails because it will protect them, and it will keep your nails from chipping. File any nails that need it.

  4. Step 4

Apply foot cream if the skin on your feet is dry. Be sure you have rubbed the cream in and dried your feet thoroughly before putting on socks or stockings.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose cotton or wool blend socks so your feet can breathe. Leather shoes are also a good choice.
  • Don't use a nail strengthener on toenails--it makes them difficult to cut.
  • Avoid high-heeled shoes that require you to jam your feet into small spaces.
