Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Origami paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Craft glue
  1. Step 1

Put the paper face down on a table. Form a triangle by matching up 2 opposite corners. Make a crease in the base of the triangle by pressing firmly on the paper.

  2. Step 2

Unfold the paper. Fold in each uncreased corner so that the paper edges are in line with the crease in the center of the paper. Your paper should look like a kite.

  3. Step 3

Fold the point at the top of the kite in so that it touches the base of the 2 other side points. Crease the fold firmly. Keep it folded.

  4. Step 4

Use the center line as a guide. Fold the kite in half, lengthwise, to form the body of the whale.

  5. Step 5

Create the tail by folding the skinny end of the paper upward 90 degrees.

  6. Step 6

Open the whale. Fold the tail piece in on itself to create a 3D effect. Fold the whale back down the center fold.

  7. Step 7

Glue a googly eye to each side of the whale's head. Attach the whale to fishing line, and hang it from the ceiling or from a mobile.
