How to Do the Eyeglass Flip Trick

The Eyeglass Flip is an illusionary magic trick performed with someone else's property. This makes it appear as though there is no way that you tampered with the item you are about to flip over. Almost any lightweight item can be used for this trick. The following will show you how to do the magic flip trick with eyeglasses.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Eyeglasses
• Table
• Invisible elastic
• Audience and/or friend

1. Wrap a piece of invisible elastic around all 4 fingers on one of your hands.

2. Ask to borrow someone's eyeglasses and tell your audience that you can make the glasses flip over.

3. Set the eyeglasses on the table upside down with the lens portion facing the audience and the arms of the eyeglasses facing you.

4. Rub your hands together, telling your audience that you have to build up an electrical charge.

5. Place your middle finger through the elastic around your hand as you "warm up your hands." Stretch out the elastic to prepare for the trick.

6. Position your hands so that one is on either side of the temple arms of the eyeglass frames. Manipulate the elastic so that it goes under the arms of the eyeglasses as you do so. Pretend to concentrate here as you do this so that it looks like you are trying to move the glasses but might be having a bit of trouble.

7. Move both of your hands upward in a slight, quick motion as the eyeglasses gently flip over.

• Eyeglasses work well in this trick because they are lightweight, you can get underneath them easily and they flip over effortlessly. Try doing this trick with other lightweight objects such as a pen or anything else that you can think of.
