Stringing beads to a hemp jewelry piece makes it sparkle. The last thing you want is to have the focal point of your masterpiece end up looking like it was an afterthought. Here's how to continue your bead stranding, so that the second bead looks as well placed as the first.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Release the center strands of hemp (also known as carriers) from whatever they are secured to, leaving them loose.

  2. Step 2

Cut off about half an inch to the ends of the carrier strands.

  3. Step 3

Use wax to make the bead slide on easier by holding the wax near the ends of your thread and pressing it into the hemp while pulling toward the end of the strands.

  4. Step 4

String the second bead. If it's a small bead, use only one carrier strand to put the bead onto the hemp project.

  5. Step 5

Make a knot to secure the second bead in place. Make sure you push the knot tightly against the side of the bead, making sure you leave the two outer pieces are loose enough to wrap around the outside of the bead. If you are working with a flatter bead, lay the jewelry flat, making sure the outer strands don't get pulled behind the bead.

  6. Step 6

Continue knotting. Since you are doing a spiral knot, you will want to start the knotting on the side with the extra carrier string if there is one. If there isn't one, simply continue knotting as usual, using the two outer strands to finish off your hemp jewelry project.
