Use Shaving Techniques

Most people remove body hair by shaving. Shaving immediately removes the hair from the body and costs the least of all hair removing techniques. You should use the proper shaving techniques to get a good shave without irritating your skin. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Shave in the shower. You'll get a better shave if you spend some time in a hot shower before you start shaving. The hot water allows the pores to open and brings the hair to the skin's surface.

    • 2

Lather up with shaving gel or cream. Place a moderate amount on the skin and follow the line of the hair. The type of shaving gel that you use is your preference, a scented shaving gel is not necessary.

    • 3

Wet the razor. Take the razor and situate it at the bottom of the area that you want to shave. As you move the razor up, go against the way that the hair naturally grows.

    • 4

Rinse the razor as you shave to remove the hair. Once you're finished, thoroughly rinse the razor and the shaved areas.

    • 5

Apply a moisturizing lotion to the shaved areas. This can help ease any irritation and reduce razor burn.

Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid using soap when shaving. You won't get the good clean shave that you'll get when using a shaving cream or gel.

  • Don't use a dull razor to shave. Replace the blades often or buy new disposable razors every few weeks.
