Instructions

1
Brush or comb the hair to remove any snags and divide the hair into two equal sections. Put hair in a ponytail before dividing to start from a ponytail.
-
2
Spray each section with a fine mist of aerosol hairspray and smooth with your hands. Make sure the hair is dry before you begin braiding.
-
-
3
Separate a section of hair from the outside edge toward the underside of the left section of hair. A fishtail braid looks best when you use thin strips of hair.
-
4
Pull the section of hair from the left side across the top of the hair and join it with the right section of hair.
-
5
Cross a section of hair from the right side to the left following Steps 3 and 4. You want to keep the strands the same thickness for the best look.
-
6
Repeat Steps 3 to 5 until you near the bottom of the braid. At the bottom, leave a tail of unbraided hair and secure the braid with an elastic band.
-
7
Fix lose strands with a bobby pin and spray the braid with hairspray to smooth loose hairs into place. You can adorn the braid with rhinestone clips or barrettes.
