Things You'll Need:
-
Step 1
Select a shade that is several shades darker than your day eye shadow color. A shimmery or shiny shade adds a dramatic flair.
-
Step 2
Dab the eye shadow brush into the dark shadow and tap it on the edge of a counter or sink to get rid of the excess. Using less shadow is more effective than applying a lot at once.
-
Step 3
Apply the dark eye shadow in the outer crease of the eye, layering the shadow on a little at a time. This helps intensify the color.
-
Step 4
Highlight the brow bone area by sweeping a shimmery neutral shade from the top of the eyelid up to the underside of the eyebrow. Fashion colors like silver and white are good for this, because they complement most skin tones.
-
Step 5
Blend the highlight color into the dark crease color completely. You should not be able to see a line where one color ends and the other begins.
-
Step 6
Finish with a fresh coat of mascara to help make your eyes pop.
