The lymphatic system works to keep toxins from entering the blood stream. Now, you must ensure that these toxins move through the system and out of the body. To do a lymphatic drainage for body detox, you must become a licensed massage therapist and learn the proper massage techniques.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Become a licensed massage therapist in order to perform a body detox massage. Discuss the procedure with your client and make sure he knows what to expect during and after the massage.

  2. Step 2

Begin your massage with small circular massage strokes. These utilize key points in the body, starting at the head or neck region. The massage moves slowly down the body and continues to clean out toxins throughout the system.

  3. Step 3

Move slowly down the body, using the same circular massage strokes. This type of gentle massage technique stimulates the body to move bacteria and other metabolic toxins through the system.

  4. Step 4

Finish the massage with the foot detoxification and bath to bring the toxins out and to the surface. Once you have removed toxins to a great degree, the lymphatic system will return to its normal pre-detox movement process.

  5. Step 5

Inform your client that he must drink plenty of water to aid in the detoxification process. This step is extremely important and is the basis for any successful detox.

Tips & Warnings
  • Passive aerobic exercise gives the body an increase of oxygen to help it work optimally.
  • Machine detox is another way to perform lymphatic drainage. You must become a certified technician to use this method. Technicians use electrodes instead of massage to stimulate the lymphatic system, in order to start drainage.
