1
Turn a pink dance outfit, complete with tutu, into a fairy costume. Take a little time to turn star garland from Christmas, into wings, add some glitter, bows and a wand, and any little girl can be a glittering fairy.

2
Make an easy skeleton costume at home. Use a black sweatsuit, double-sided tape, and white cardboard. Cut out all of the necessary bone shapes, and tape them to the arms and legs of the sweatsuit. You can even cut out a skull shape and make a mask with some string tied through holes punched in the side.

3
Get creative with candy. Make your child a smartie pants for Halloween, by taping the Smarties candy to jeans or pants.

4
Use strip of white cardboard to turn a button-up black shirt and black pants into a priest's wardrobe. You can add a Bible, a cross, a set of rosary beads or a small bottle of "holy" water to help round out the outfit.

5
Recycle for Halloween. Use old soda cups, candy wrappers, gum, napkins, pop corn boxes and straw wrappers to a grey sweat suit and make a movie theater floor costume at home.
-
6
Carry a loud bell, add grey wings to a grey outfit and you can make a Ding Bat costume at home.
-
7
Paint a black nose and whiskers onto the face. Put on a grey sweat suit with white or grey pillow stuffing, in thin wispy strands, all over the costume. Add a cotton tail, and you have a Dusty Bunny costume for Halloween.
