Step 1
Consider the strength of the cleaner you will need to use based on the build-up on the inside of the door jamb. The cleaner can, mostly likely, be the same cleaner you use for the wheels or other components of the car unless you have polished aluminum trim pieces. Some of these cleaners may be damaging.
-
Step 2
Choose a cleaner based on whether or not there are polished aluminum pieces on youthe r door jambs or in the vicinity of the door jambs. If you are unsure of what cleaner to use, ask an associate at your local auto parts store. They can help you choose the right cleaner for this process.
-
Step 3
Spray the cleaner all over the inside of the door jambs, being careful not to get it on the interior and electrical or working parts of the inside of the vehicle. Use a paintbrush and agitate the cleaner around the door jamb, getting into all the small areas to loosen the build-up.
-
Step 4
Use a low-pressure water source to wash out all the build up and the cleaner. Be careful not to get your interior too wet. You would also use a rag to get the cleaner and gunk off. The texture of the cloth is not important in this application. If there is extra build-up, use a scrub brush or other tool to get it off, being careful not to scratch the paint.
