Body wraps help people tighten skin and lose body inches in about an hour. Soaked in a special solution, elastic is wrapped around the body to compress skin and eliminate toxins. A body wrap is usually used on places of the body that need tightening, like the stomach. It is a very relaxing spa experience and includes an important moisturizing step. To moisturize a body-wrapped area correctly and aid in the beneficial and relaxing properties of this decadent spa procedure, follow the guidelines below.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Warm shower
  • Towels
  • Moisturizer
  1. Step 1

Choose a lotion that's right for your skin. Dry skin benefits from lotion infused with heavy oils like sesame, olive and safflower. If your skin is on the oilier side, lotions infused with lighter emollients such as jojoba, avocado and grape seed work best. The key is to choose a moisturizer that won't clog your pores.

  2. Step 2

Remove the body wrap and rinse the stomach, or other area, with warm water. The warm water not only removes the body wrap solution, but it also opens pores so the moisturizer can penetrate skin better.

  3. Step 3

Apply the final moisturizer. Using soft hand strokes, rub the lotion on the area that's been in the body wrap. Make sure to use enough lotion to cover the skin, but not too much so that it won't be absorbed. Do not wash off the moisturizer.

Tips & Warnings
  • It's best not to moisturize with products containing mineral oils. These are made with petroleum, which stays on top of the skin, inhibiting the absorption ability of the moisturizer.
