Things You'll Need:
- Resume
- Head shots
- DVD or CD
-
Step 1
Be prepared before you get there. Know what the casting director is looking for and deliver what is expected.
-
Step 2
Memorize your lines if you've had a chance to view them ahead of time. When you don't get a script preview, read your lines accurately while looking up as much as possible.
-
Step 3
Introduce yourself, shake hands and make your pitch to the casting director. Smile and make eye contact as you hand over your resume and head shot.
-
Step 4
Show emotion when you speak and feel the part. You want the director to believe you are the character and forget that you are just acting.
-
Step 5
Read several parts if possible so that you can show your range. Sing and dance if it is included in the audition.
-
Step 6
Include an acting demo on a CD or a DVD if possible. You can also include a website with your photos.
-
Step 7
Wear an outfit that would be appropriate to your character. Wear regular casual clothing if you aren't told to dress in character.
