How to Find Music With Limewire

One of the most popular means of obtaining music today is via Internet downloads. Through peer-2-peer (P2P) file-sharing networks, countless music and video files are uploaded and downloaded all over the world every day. Limewire is one of the most popular of the P2P clients used to access to this global network. Read on to learn how to find music to download with Limewire.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Download and install Limewire on your PC. Open the program.

  2. Step 2

    Click the search tab at the top of the home page. To the left of the page there will be a number of search options for different media. By default, it will be on "All Types." Select "Audio" as the type of media file you want to search for.

  3. Step 3

    Select the option to search by title, artist or album among other criteria. Enter a keyword into the search box and click on the "Search" button.

  4. Step 4

    Make a selection to search by title, artist or album among other criteria, and then enter a search term. Click on the "Search" button. Limewire will list all the available files with that term in the name.

  5. Step 5

    Filter the results even further based on album, license and even genre. Select a music file to download and click it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Click the "What's New" tab at the bottom of the home page to search new releases.
  • Peer-2-peer file-sharing networks are at their most efficient when everyone using them shares files with each other.
