Step 1
Find a place large enough to lay the shirt out flat. A table, bed or even the floor covered with a towel to prevent the shirt from getting dirty will work.
-
Step 2
Adjust the shirt to make sure the right side is out. You may wish to press the shirt with an iron or steam the wrinkles out.
-
Step 3
Stand up and hold the shirt by the folded down collar with the front of the shirt facing your body. Slide the top button through the button hole.
-
Step 4
Turn the shirt around to the back by sliding your fingers on your left hand along the top folded edge of the collar as the material is pulled to the right by your right hand. The back of the shirt is now facing your body.
-
Step 5
Hold the top and middle of the collar in your left hand. Grasp the right sleeve with your right finger tips where the front vertical shirt panel meets the back horizontal piece of material. Your finger tips are now holding the right shoulder seam.
-
Step 6
Continue holding the right seam with your right hand. Release your left hand from the middle of the collar and move it to the left sleeve. Again you will hold with your finger tips the point where the sleeve, front panel and back horizontal panel meet. You have successfully located both of the shoulder seams.
-
Step 7
Keep holding the shirt by the seams, and carefully lay the shirt out on the flat surface with the back side of the shirt down. Smooth the material out neatly, button the rest of the buttons and stretch the sleeves out to the sides. The shirt is ready for your to complete the folding process.
