Fixed bridle foil kites have four lines. They fly in a similar fashion to sports kites, except that they also have a line affixed to the trailing edge of the wing. The added line enables you to better control the kite, allowing you to fly it left and right.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Launch the kite by stepping back with your arms outstretched, keeping a good tension on the line.

  2. Step 2

Jerk your arms toward your body. This jerking motion breaks the fixed bridle foil power kite up from the ground.

  3. Step 3

Continue stepping backward and pull your fixed bridle foil power kite into the sky.

  4. Step 4

Keep the kite airborne by separating the controls and keeping tension on the fixed bridle foil power kite's line.

  5. Step 5

Allow the fixed bridle foil power kite to sway back and forth in the air. Because of its curved shape, the air pressure helps keep it aloft.

  6. Step 6

Practice allowing the kite to make huge arcs in the air, getting closer and closer to the ground without touching, then bounding up and swooping down on the other side.

  7. Step 7

Use the fixed bridle foil power kite to power buggies. Because of the wide wingspan of the fixed bridle power foil kite, the kite is able to gain a lot of power and sail faster through the air.

  8. Step 8

Be safe. Be aware of your surrounds and choose areas to fly your fixed bridle foil power kite where it's free of obstructions like trees, power lines and buildings.
