Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Download and install the Java Runtime Environment. You will need this because Azureus is programmed in the Java language and will not run without it. If you already have Java, move on to the next step. If not, download it at the "Java" home page.

  2. Step 2

Click on the link labeled "Free Java Download." Select the file to download based on your PC's operating system. Complete the installation wizard and click "Finish" when prompted.

  3. Step 3

Go to the Azureus download page. Click on the Windows logo in the section titled "Latest Azureus Release."

  4. Step 4

Select "Save File" in the pop-up window that comes up. Save the file to a folder of your choice.

  5. Step 5

Finish by clicking "OK" in the next pop-up window. This launches a set up wizard. Complete the wizard and click "Finish" once the installation is complete. You now have Azureus installed on your computer, ready to down load bit torrent files.

Tips & Warnings
  • Vuze, Inc. now owns and operates Azureus and is gradually changing the branding from Azureus to Vuze. As such, the names Azureus, Azureus Vuze and Vuze are sometimes used interchangeably.
  • Don't download Azureus from any website other than Vuze or SourceForge, so as to avoid spyware.
