Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Disconnect all the old wiring from the alternator and then unscrew from the engine.

  2. Step 2

Place the new alternator over the holes and attach it with a new nut and bolt.

  3. Step 3

Search for the two wires-—one black with a white stripe and the other white with a black stripe.

  4. Step 4

Run the white wire with the black stripe into the "L" connector and attach to the terminal. Improve the connection by soldering the wire to the terminal.

  5. Step 5

Cut off the old connector wire. Add grease to the connector and install into the terminal.

  6. Step 6

Find the fuse holder and run a wire to the B terminal on the battery.

  7. Step 7

Attach the old output wire onto the B terminal at the same time as the fuse holder wire.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can protect the radiator fins from bangs by placing cardboard over the area.
  • Do not work on the alternator with the battery cables still attached.
