The guitar has been in existence for over 5000 years and has changed and evolved over the centuries. While electric guitars dominated for a time, the acoustic guitar is again the most popular guitar. A song that emphasizes the beautiful sound of this guitar is "Round Here" by the Counting Crows.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Know the chords of G, C, D, E minor and A. These are the notes that are necessary to play "Round Here" by the Counting Crows.

  2. Step 2

Start the song by producing the G note on the acoustic guitar. The G-string on the acoustic guitar is the third string. To know which string is the G, see the Resources section for more information.

  3. Step 3

Transition to a chord progression of first D then C and finally back to the note of D. The D string on the acoustic guitar is the fourth string, right above the G string. The C note is accomplished by playing a B chord, which is the second string, in the third fret.

  4. Step 4

Know that a person plays the note of G for the each riff in the song "Round Here.".

  5. Step 5

Play the chorus in a faster strumming motion as opposed to the sub motion of the riff.

  6. Step 6

Exchange back to the riff in the note of G. Then repeat Step 3 as you return to the chorus. Transition in between the riff and chorus until the song is finished. Also understand that from the second chorus on, each chorus changes to add a bridged note of A.
