Things You'll Need:
- Twine
- Wooden fence poles
- Drill and drill bits
- Permanent marker
- Measuring tape
- Rubber mallet
-
Step 1
Buy twine, two wooden anchor poles and various supporting poles. You can buy these at most home and garden stores. Look for them at local greenhouses or Internet garden shops also.
-
Step 2
Find an area that's large enough to build the twine fence. It makes it easier to build the fence right at the spot you are going to erect it later.
-
Step 3
Drill at least two holes through each wooden fence pole, including the support poles. For the best results, start with the first wooden post. Then, measure the distance between holes on each pole. Take a permanent marker and mark that distance on each of the remaining poles.
-
Step 4
Lay down the two end anchor poles and arrange enough supporting poles. You'll need roughly one support pole for every four feet of fencing.
-
Step 5
Start threading the twine through the holes. Knot the end piece at the end pole. Then string the twine through each pole remaining. Knot the other end.
-
Step 6
Erect the fence. Hammer the fence posts into the ground using a rubber mallet. You should try to hammer it at least 4 to 5 five inches into the ground for best support.
