Things You'll Need:

  • A unicycle
  • Two friends
  • A blindfold
  1. Step 1

Learn to ride a unicycle using your sight. Unicycle riding takes a great deal of balance. Without benefit of visual stimuli, you're more vulnerable to possible injury. You must be an advanced unicyclist before attempting to ride blindfolded.

  2. Step 2

Enlist the help of two friends for your first few attempts. Even expert riders initially require assistance riding blindfolded.

  3. Step 3

Ride around in normal fashion for several minutes to warm up. It's essential to focus on your balance to determine if your unicycle is working properly. A brief ride can accomplish both.

  4. Step 4

Sit still on your unicycle. Ask both friends to spot you by walking along your side as you ride blindfolded. For best results, choose a flat, wide-open area free of objects that can get in your way.

  5. Step 5

Place the blindfold on but don't tie it tightly. If you get into trouble, you must be able to yank the blindfold off in a hurry.

  6. Step 6

While blindfolded, ride forward slowly in a straight line. Your spotters are less effective when you make unexpected turns. Ride a short distance and then pull off the blindfold to stop safely.

  7. Step 7

Practice this technique repeatedly until you're comfortable riding a unicycle while wearing a blindfold.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never ride blindfolded without spotters. Even a small mistake can result in serious injury.
  • This trick requires an advanced skill level of unicycle riding. Amateur riders should never attempt to unicycle blindfolded.
