As a parent, you learn quickly that newborn and infant babies can go through several crib sheets a week. Changing a crib sheet quickly and efficiently will save you valuable time throughout your week and ensure that your child has a comfortable crib to sleep in.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Waterproof mattress pad
  • Crib sheet
  • Waterproof lap pads
  1. Step 1

Untie and remove any bumper pads that are in the crib. Then remove the crib mattress from the crib.

  2. Step 2

Pull off the crib sheet and mattress pads.

  3. Step 3

Lay a waterproof mattress pad on top of mattress. Then fold the corners of the mattress pad over the crib mattress tightly. The corner seams on the mattress pad should align with the center of the corner on the crib mattress. If they are off centered, pull the mattress pad so they line up correctly.

  4. Step 4

Repeat Step 3 above with a clean crib sheet. Pull the corners of the crib sheet as tightly as possible to remove any wrinkles from the sheet.

  5. Step 5

Place the crib mattress back into the crib once the mattress pad and sheets are on correctly.

  6. Step 6

Insert the crib bumpers into the crib and retie them to the crib slats. Make sure the bumper pads are tied and knotted securely so your baby can't untie them.

Tips & Warnings
  • To protect your mattress pad, and to save time on laundry, layer two waterproof lap pads between your mattress pad and crib sheet. When you remove the crib sheet, remove the lap pads along with it, but leave the mattress pad.
  • You can also layer a mattress pad and crib sheet, on top of another mattress pad and crib sheet. You will just need to remove the top crib sheet and pad to get to a clean set of sheets for your baby to lay on.
  • If the knots on the bumper pads are too tight to remove from the crib, simply push the bumper pads up to the top rails as far as possible.
