Jujitsu's Kimura is an internal rotation shoulder lock that uses a quick and simple setup move to execute a painful and debilitating Jujitsu joint lock. The Kimura is effective from the guard position but can be performed from a number of other positions as well.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get your opponent into your guard and lock the guard by crossing your feet on your opponent's lower back.

  2. Step 2

Grab your opponent's wrist with your hand that's closest to his hand when he plants his hand on the ground. Hold his wrist firmly and apply downward pressure to keep his hand on the ground.

  3. Step 3

Unlock your guard, put your feet on the ground and leverage yourself so you sit up. Use your free hand to reach across and over the shoulder of the arm that you're already holding by the wrist. Bring your hand under your opponent's elbow and grab your own wrist as you maintain your grip on your opponent's wrist.

  4. Step 4

Lean back and let your opponent fall onto your chest. Throw your leg that's on the same side as the Kimura lock over your opponent's back. Execute the Kimura move by pushing your opponent's hand up and towards his ear.
