Brazilian Jujitsu is based on the early 20th century form of Judo. Also called BJJ, Brazilian Jujitsu is often used to train for mixed martial arts competition, sport grappling tournaments and self defense. The guard pass to a knee bar is used in Jujitsu to subdue opponents.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get into position with your partner. Have your partner lay flat on the floor in the guard position and get between his legs. Do not let him wrap his legs around you.

  2. Step 2

Hold one of your opponent's legs. Wrap your arm around the leg. Push down on the other leg to force it to the floor. The best position for your hand is at your opponent's knee.

  3. Step 3

Lean into the leg your arm is wrapped around. Press the leg out from your opponent's body. Press your knee on his hip and slide around his leg until you are sitting on the floor.

  4. Step 4

Leave your leg bent when you slide around your opponent. Your foot needs to be on the inside of her leg. Stretch your other leg out to where your foot is on the other side of her leg. Bend your knee so your leg slides through the opening between and under the two legs.

  5. Step 5

Grab the heel of your opponent's foot. Push his heel up towards his head. Twist the ankle slightly.

Tips & Warnings
