Once you have learned the fundamentals of break dancing, it is time to move onto an intermediate level move. The corkscrew is fun go-down move that is very useful in choreography. It is a predecessor of more difficult moves.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin with both feet grounded and weight evenly distributed between the two.

  2. Step 2

Jump and land with your right foot in the very center with your weight centered on top of it. Let your left foot fall into the air raised a little above the floor.

  3. Step 3

Bring your left foot back and bend your knee a bit to bring the left foot right into the back of the right knee. Flex your left foot and wrap foot around so that your toes are in front of your right knee.

  4. Step 4

Bend your right knee and collapse forward, as if your left foot has tripped your right leg. Instead of falling straight forward, fall lightly to the right to land on the left toes.

  5. Step 5

Land with your weight on your right knee, which then lands on the toes of you left foot. Do not land directly on your knee which can cause injury. Also catch yourself with your hands on the floor in front of your chest.

  6. Step 6

Push up from the floor on the ball of your left foot and turn around, untwisting the legs as you go. Stand up straight and the corkscrew is complete. Also use your arms to push up.
