After learning a wide variety of break dancing moves, it is time to put some if them together to create a combination. A combination can be used in freestyle or when choreographing an entire piece. For your first combination, begin with some of the most basic steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin the combination with a basic top rock step. This is a step down by crossing the foot over the opposite side, such as the right foot stepping the left side and vice versa. When you step forward, open your arms out. When stepping out and then back, add some bounce to your step.

  2. Step 2

Do a zigzag down. This is a creative move down to get break dancers to the ground. Bend your knees and leaving them together, push them to the right, then left then right again getting lower to the ground each time.

  3. Step 3

Continue the combination with a shuffle. A shuffle is done from a kneeling position, leaning back on one arm. Shuffle the feet back and forth quickly hopping from one foot to the other, while pushing the other foot out in front.

  4. Step 4

Try a cannon ball freeze. It is a simple pirouette-style turn done close to the ground while kneeling. While kneeling, turn on one foot and place the hand on the ground. Mid-turn, switch your hands in addition to the foot that is bearing the weight.

  5. Step 5

End the combination with a baby freeze. From a kneeling position, place both hands palms-down on the ground to your right side. Create a shelf with your left elbow to bear your weight. Lean over centering all of your weight on that one arm, and lift your legs until you are balanced.
