Step 1
Find a balloon that serves the purpose of helping the hovercraft seemingly float in the air. The basic aspects of a quality balloon are size and durability. With that in mind, ordering a latex balloon off of a website such as Balloon Warehouse makes a lot of sense.
-
Step 2
Blow up the balloon to about 90 percent capacity. Avoid blowing up the balloon too much because you need to manipulate the end of the balloon, and if you blow it up all the way, you won't have any excess slack.
-
Step 3
Pinch the balloon closed as you transfer the balloon from your mouth to the top of your hover craft. You should not tie the balloon or twist the balloon at this point. Instead just pinch between your forefinger and your thumb.
-
Step 4
Slide the opening of the balloon over the cap on the hovercraft all the way to the base. Error on the side of sliding the balloon too far rather than not sliding the balloon enough.
-
Step 5
Release your hand from the balloon. At this point, the balloon should stay on the hovercraft even if you aren't touching it. If the balloon stays in place, you have completed attaching the balloon to the hovercraft.
