Once you have made a balloon hat, you may be wondering how you can space it up. An easy way to do so is to add anchor points. Anchor points allow you to take a basic balloon hat and customize it how you see fit. Experiment with the hat until you find combinations that you like.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Purchase professional balloons to use as anchor points. You can buy different sizes and shapes as long as the balloons are of professional quality. Look at the Balloon Creations website for options.
Step2
Ensure that the balloon hat is built properly to handle the anchor points. The balloon hat should be a little bit soft and squeezable so that anchor points can be added and taken off.
Step3
Make a generic anchor point design with a balloon. The design can simply be a big bow that you can use as an anchor point.
Step4
Tie the anchor point to the top of the balloon hat to give an appearance of big ears. To make it stand out, make sure that the anchor point balloon is a different color than the balloon hat.
Step5
Add the anchor point to the back of the balloon hat. Doing so gives the allusion of wings. You can also spin the anchor point to give it the illusion of a propeller.
Step6
Try putting the anchor point on different areas of the balloon hat to figure out what else you can make using the anchor point. Other ideas include horns and a pinwheel.
