1. Learn what stabilizers actually do when you are practicing shooting a bow. Archery is an exciting sport and the excitement can cause you to lose your concentration if your bow has a lot of movement. In using stabilizers, bow movement is held to a minimum, thus helping you to shoot with greater accuracy.

2. Notice on stabilizers, when you're looking to purchase one, they come in different weights and lengths. You must pick the right length and weight that makes you feel the most comfortable. In doing this, you must draw your bow back with the stabilizer attached to the front of the bow. See how the bow feels.

3. Install a stabilizer properly on your bow in order to get the best results in the control of your archery equipment. There are threads located on the front of your bow below where you hand goes. This is where the stabilizer mounts. Screw the stabilizer in and use the lock nut so that it will not back out.

4. Compare the different lengths of stabilizers. These helpful pieces of archery equipment are used differently in different situations. The longer stabilizers are used mainly in tournaments held in open areas where participants are standing on the ground, shooting at open targets. Longer stabilizers can go up to 36 inches in length. Shorter stabilizers are used more for hunting purposes in order for you to still have good movement with your bow in tight areas.
