The martial art style Tae Kwon Do is a form of the ancient Korean fighting style Taekkyeon. The original reason for Taekkyeon training was to develop speed, strength, discipline and survival skills. In Tae Kwon Do, many moves are designed to fight opponents. A flying two-direction kick is one of those moves.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start in the guard or defensive position. The right foot is in front of the left, and the body is angled with the hands raised in the defensive position.

  2. Step 2

Take two steps forward toward the opponents. Use these steps to position yourself between the two opponents.

  3. Step 3

Jump into the air. The jump allows you to kick both legs at the same time.

  4. Step 4

Do a twist kick with the right foot. A twist kick starts like a front kick with the heel twisted in toward the body. When the leg is extended to the side, strike the opponent to the right.

  5. Step 5

Execute a side kick with the rear foot or the left foot. A side kick is when the knee lifts, turns sideways and releases quickly. This delivers a hard, fast kick to the opponent on the left side.

  6. Step 6

Practice until you can do the move with ease and speed. The move should take four to five seconds to execute when done correctly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Stretch your muscles before practicing or competing in Tae Kwon Do. This protects you from pulling or straining a muscle.
